Today we have an emerging concept called ECRM, a means for the companies to conduct interactive and personalized communications with customer. Companies whether they are manufacturing or are in the service, need to adopt right customer relationship strategies in order to survive in the competitive world. Banks are using ECRM tools for creating relationship with their customers. Bank employees are working with these tools and success entirely depends on the ways in which it is properly adopted and used by these employees. This study was conducted with an objective to know the employee's perception on ECRM tools and effectiveness of usage of these tools.Keywords

Objective: The present study was undertaken to investigate the glucose reducing level by Asystasia gangetica flowers with various doses (125, 250 and 500 mg/kg bw) in normal and streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. Methods: Acute and sub-acute toxicity of A. gangetica was evaluated in rats with various doses and its and serum parameters were analyzed. Diabetes was induced by giving streptozotocin (45 mg/kg bw) to the rats and after conformation of diabetes, A. gangetica flower ethanol extract (AGFEE) was administrated to the normal and diabetic rats for a period of 14 days. Body weight and glucose levels were determined after 7th and 14th day of the study. Glucose tolerance test was also carried out after administration of glucose at the rate of 2 g/kg bw till 14th day. Results: The LD50 of extract found to be higher than 2000 mg/kg bw and the extract did not show any significant changes in serum parameters. In blood glucose reducing activity the three doses showed significant lowering glucose levels, when compared with each doses at the dose of 250 mg/kg bw the AGFEE showed maximum activity. In diabetic control rats there was a significant elevation in blood glucose levels and reduction in body weight was produced and continued till the end of the study. No alterations were found in control and extract alone treated rats. Results showed AGFEE had exhibited significant hypoglycemic (glucose lowering) activity. Conclusion: Present in vivo model indicating that the plant extract contain active principle compound for the management of hyperglycemia.Keywords

The present study prepared aims to demonstrate the quality evaluation of roasted and germinated composite flours. Composite flour was prepared with wheat flour, maize flour, green gram flour and groundnut flour. Material balance method was followed to get the required proportions of flours. The samples of first batch were raw and considered as control flour. Second and third batch samples were roasted flour and germinated flour respectively. Roasting and germination were done by the standard methods. Proximate composition and functional properties were determined using the standard procedures.Protein content of germinated flour was significantly higher than other flours. Fat and carbohydrate were degraded significantly (p<0.05) during processing. On germination, the water absorption index increased significantly at 5 per cent level indicating the ability of flour to absorb water and an increase in the amount of soluble materials, which can be easily digested. Germination increased water absorption capacity, foaming capacity and solubility whereas roasting significantly affects bulk density, oil absorption capacity, swelling capacity and emulsi- fication capacity.The present study concludes that the composite flours have better qualities that could be harnessed by roasting and germination to meet nutritional requirements and recommended for incorporation in food preparations.Keywords

Drought stress is a serious constraint, especially in rainfed rice production, and breeding for drought tolerance by selection based on yield under stress, though effective, is slow Mapping quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for yield and its components under drought stress predominant in rainfed target populations of environment (TPE) will help overcome this limitation. In the present study, a subset of 143 F8 and F9 recombinant inbred (RI) lines derived from IR62266-42-6-2 (IR62266), a high-yielding indica ecotype and Norungan, a landrace from TPE, was used to map QTLs for yield and its components under drought predominant in TPE. A large effect yield QTL observed under drought stress in TPE was consistent across two years with a phenotypic variation of 31.3% and 37.9% and additive effect of 629.2 and 424.9 kg/ha Further, this region was fine-mapped to 94.0 kb with positive effect on grain yield under stress.Keywords

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of independent wireless nodes that can move randomly which forms a short-term network which has no fixed Infrastructure [8]. A MANET is a collection of mobile nodes connected by wireless links which can configure by itself. In Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, network partitioning or performance degradation occurs due to mobility of nodes. To minimize the performance degradation we go for replication techniques. These techniques consider that all mobile nodes co-operate fully, where as some nodes may co-operate partially or may not co-operate with other nodes and they are termed as selfish nodes. These types of nodes reduce the overall data accessibility. In order to preserve their battery selfish nodes won’t transmit data to others. Most of the existing research focuses on the network issues in a MANET. The main purpose of using a MANET is to provide well-organized data services to users replica allocation is also an important area to be focused. In previous methods some time link failure nodes are identified as selfish node. To overcome these issues a novel method is proposed where each node selects its neighbor nodes by considering low link failure rate, high contact probability and high remaining energy level. Then reliable neighbor scheme is applied to select nodes from its neighbors to replicate data. Here nodes are considered reliable which contribute more memory to neighbor nodes for replication of data items.

This paper presents the analysis of hybrid wavelet transform generation technique using two orthogonal transforms. The orthogonal transforms are used for analysis of global properties of the data into frequency domain. For understanding the local properties of the signal, the concept of wavelet transform is introduced. Wavelets are mathematical tools that can be used to extract information from many different kinds of data such as text and images. The proposed method considers the Hybrid Wavelet transform which can be generated by crossbreeding any two orthogonal transforms among four transforms such as Discrete Cosine transform (DCT), Discrete Walsh transform (DWT), Discrete Hartley transform (DHT) and Discrete Kekre transform (DKT). The analysis of the hybrid wavelet transforms is done by comparing them with the original orthogonal transforms with respect to Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) values. The experimental result increases the performance of Hybrid wavelet transforms than the original orthogonal transforms by maintaining both the compression rate and the quality in tolerable manner.Keywords

The popularity of multimedia applications has resulted in development of lossless and lossy compression techniques. This paper presents a novel lossy compression scheme for the Low Depth-of-Field (DOF) images where the quality factor is altered based on whether we are compressing object-of-interest (OOI) or the background. Low DOF is a popular photographic technique which enables the representation of the photographer’s intention by giving a clear focus only on an object of interest (OOI). We first describe a fast and efficient scheme for extracting OOIs from individual low-DOF images and then apply the lossy compression scheme with different quality factor on it. The proposed system does not require any user assistance to determine the initial OOI. The experimental results shows that the proposed method performs well in compressing the given image (higher compression ratio), at the same time maintaining the acceptable quality (high PSNR) and reduce the complexity.Keywords

More effective and friendly methods for Human Computer Interaction (HCI) are being developed due to the pervasiveness of new information technology and media, which do not need any traditional interacting devices such as keyboards, mice, and displays. The face processing research based on the premise that information about a user’s identity, state, and intent can be extracted from images, and that computers can then react accordingly. Gesture recognition aims at creating a system to convey information or for device control which can be identified by specific human gestures. Real-time vision-based hand gesture recognition is considered to be more and more feasible for HCI with the help of latest advances in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition. This survey papers deals with discussion of various techniques, methods and algorithms related to the gesture recognition and sheds information about Face detection. One of the natural way of communications is to use hand gesture which combines the emotions of human to real world. Hand gesture recognition has the various advantages of able to communicate with the Technology through basic sign language. The gesture will able to reduce the use of most prominent hardware devices which are used to control the activities of computer.Keywords

The antioxidant activity was assessed using DPPH scavenging assay while the anticancer property of the Solanum virginanum in swiss albino mice against Dalton Ascites Lymphoma (DAL).Tumor was induced in mice by intraperitoneal inoculation of Dalton Ascites Lymphoma cells (1 x 105 cells / mouse).The seed extract was found to possess significant antioxidant and anticancer activities.Keywords

Diabetes is a major health care melancholy issue of contemporary era. In order to control the blood glucose levels and to improve the quality of life, some painless diagnosing method has to be identified, thereby avoiding the complications of present day lancet methods. Although many efforts have been taken by researchers in order to successfully launch a device that measures blood glucose noninvasively, the results seems to be intruded due to the fact that designers mostly concentrate on optical methods which suffer from greater interferences due to the less absorbing property of glucose. Our earlier work investigated a possible method of measuring the Non Invasive Blood Glucose Concentration level (NI-BGC), although results achieved were quite hopeful, it needs further extensive testing and improvement in the design before it can be considered for clinical use. This paper rationalizes a method of using Ultra Violet - Visible Light (UV-VIS) Spectrophotometer for selecting the correct Light Source of proper wavelength, by testing the raw blood sample and artificial Glucose samples - to be employed in the design. This work also draws together readings from two different sensors based on absorption photometry and by averaging the sensor values using embedded technology; a non-invasive glucometer has been modelled to provide a boon for the person hankering to diagnose diabetes.Keywords

This paper introduces optimal utilization of solar photovoltaic array integrated PV-UPQC-S by modified p-q theory based control for clean energy generation along with power quality improvement. UPQC is designed by the integration of series and shunt VSCs sharing a common DC bus capacitor. Voltage disturbance like sag, swell, unbalance and harmonics are being compensated by UPQC along with mitigation of source current harmonics. Series VSC simultaneously delivers active and reactive power using theory of power angle control of UPQC to coordinate load reactive power and hence named as UPQC-S. The fundamental frequency positive sequence (FFPS) components of voltages at PCC are extracted using generalized cascaded delay signal cancellation (GCDSC) technique to generate reference signals using p-q theory based control for the PV-UPQC-S. This helps in control of distorted PCC voltages. The series voltage source converter (VSC) shares a part of the reactive power of the load even under nominal grid conditions, thereby reducing the rating of shunt VSC. The PV array is integrated at the DC-bus of the UPQC, provides a part of active load power thus reducing demand on the supply system. The DC voltage is maintained constant using Fuzzy Logic Controller. The shunt and series reference signals derived from the control algorithm and sensed signals are injected into FLC to generate switching signals. The proposed system can work under multiple disturbance such as irradiation variation, PCC voltage disturbance and harmonics occurring simultaneously. The dynamic performance of modified p-q theory based PV-UPQC-S is verified by simulating the system in Matlab-Simulink with combination of linear and nonlinear loads.

Identification of genetic and environmental factors is very important in developing novel methods to detect and prevent cancer. Resistance spot welding (RSW) is used to overcome the issues in fusion welding of DP-1000 steel such as softening in heat affected zone (HAZ), solidification cracking, high thermal residual stresses and distortion. The main objective of this investigation is to develop the empirical relationships to predict the tensile shear fracture load bearing capability of spot joints for automotive applications. The three factor – three level box-behnken design (3X3-BBD) consisting ofless experiments was chosen for developing the experimental matrix. The lap tensile shear fracture load (LAP-TSFL) and cross tensile shear fracture load (CROSS-TSFL) tests were performed to determine the load bearing capability of spot joints. The empirical relationships of LAP-TSFL and CROSS-TSFL of spot joints were developed using polynomial regression equations incorporating the process parameters in coded form. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was executed to check the viability of developed empirical relationships for LAP-TSFL and CROSS-TSFL. The empirical relationship accurately predicted the LAP-TSFL and CROSS-TSFL capability of spot joints with less than 1% error at 95% confidence level.Keywords
